| Advises all levels of management as directed by the General Counsel and Vice President for Legal regarding legal questions which may arise in the course of department activities. Counsels them as to the legal responsibilities of the Hospital when appropriate. |
| Reviews as to form and legality affiliation, agreements grants by-laws, maintenance contracts, vendor agreements, as directed by Legal counsel, and advises Legal counsel of same. |
| Creates, maintains and coordinates Contract files and tickler file of same |
| Researches and keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and BRMC’s regulations, laws, polices as they presently exist and as they change or are modified, as directed by Legal counsel. |
| Manages claims/litigation in collaboration with insurance carrier and assigned counsel. |
| Handles all subpoena requests and coordinates with medical records. |
| Manages Behavioral Health Central Clerical Department which pertains to the civil commitment process. |
| Works with Associate Counsel to handle all judicial requests made during civil commitment hearings, with necessary follow-up with appropriate administrators. |
| Coordinates Krol hearings and distributes Krol orders to physicians and social workers. |

Education/Certification: Bachelors degree and Paralegal Certificate
Experience: One three years. Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word. Proficiency in Westlaw and/or Lexis-Nexis Excellent oral and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.
