We have been retained by one of the most prestigious global law firms with more than 2,800 attorneys worldwide to recruit for a US Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI).
The firm is passionate about transforming DEI and this newly created role will serve as a pivotal player in bringing about real and sustained change through their own personal presence, thought leadership, and industry expertise. The firm is seeking an individual who will have an impact in putting the firm on the map – internally and externally – when it comes to DEI.
The US Head of DEI is a key part of the global DEI team and will be an engaged member of the US People Team. Serving as a trusted advisor to US and global firm management, the role encompasses both strategy and execution of key DEI programs, projects, and processes which are in support of the firm’s legal and business services colleagues.
We are looking for dynamic candidates who:
- Are a recognized industry thought leader and subject matter expert in DEI in US law and/or professional services firms.
- Serve as a trusted advisor in designing and implementing DEI strategies that have a transformative impact on the firm’s US operations.
- Champion progress by empowering the firm’s attorneys and business professionals with the resources and tools they need to excel.
- Have a track record of successfully spearheading large-scale initiatives including developing strategic plans, securing stakeholder buy-in, crafting impactful messaging and measuring success.
- Provide expert guidance on marketing, client engagement, employee brand and other key projects.
- Excel in collaboration, leveraging their expertise and network to elevate the team and foster collective success.
Candidates must:
- Possess a bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior-level DEI position, and at least five years of experience in an advisory or supervisory role. A master’s degree and/or JD is preferred.
- Be able to demonstrate strong knowledge of DEI best practices.
- Have strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
- Exercise the highest level of judgement and discretion.
