Core Responsibilities
As the PI Litigation Paralegal, the primary responsibilities include:
Responsibilities:
- Must be able to prepare discovery documents, legal pleadings, and correspondence
- Must be able to review and analyze medical records and other documents as required
- Must be able to evaluate investigation materials and draft responses to written discovery
- Must be able to schedule lay and expert witness meetings and depositions in standard as well as multi-party cases
- Must be able to review and summarize depositions
- Must become familiar with client guidelines for billable and non-billable activities
- Must have experience recording time entries for all daily tasks
- Must have exceptional communication skills, and be comfortable communicating with clients, courts, witnesses, parties, etc.
- Must have litigation and personal injury experience
- Must be responsible for handling all aspects of the file from the moment it enters litigation including but not limited to Drafting Complaints, Drafting Request for
- Admissions, Request for Productions, answering interrogatories, Managing attorney's calendar, and ongoing great communication with clients.
Qualities and Skills:
- Proven analytical and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Familiarity with performing research tasks using web-based legal research services
- Advanced legal writing, drafting, and proofing skills
- Ability to prioritize urgent projects and meet deadlines
- Ability to work both as part of a team and independently
- Bilingual English/Spanish Required
