Position Available:
Attorney
Legal Aid of Western Ohio, Inc. (LAWO), a non-profit law firm that provides free legal help in civil legal matters to eligible individuals and groups in western Ohio, seeks an attorney to join our team and provide services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking in our Stability and Independence for Survivors Practice Group. This position will be based out of LAWO’s Defiance office.
Requirements: Excellent legal and communication skills; experience with case management software; ability to relate well to people living in poverty; understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence and its impact on parenting; and a commitment to high quality legal services are required. Ideal candidate will be able to work collaboratively, have experience working with domestic violence survivors and have familiarity representing clients within family and juvenile court. Remote work is likely, but court hearings, meetings with community partners and client-based in-person work are required. Admittance to the Ohio Bar or the ability to be admitted by motion or temporary certification is required.
