Job Description

Location: Oakwood, GA, or Laurel, MS.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to support and streamline loan and contract documentation processes related to our poultry farm live production operations. This role will serve as a one-stop resource for drafting, managing, and standardizing legal documents related to farm loan agreements and live production contracts. The position is central to managing a portfolio of over $200 million in our secured farm housing loans and maintaining close compliance and coordination with both internal stakeholders and external banks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Loan Documentation (60%)
    • Draft, review, and manage closing documents for farm-related loans, typically ranging up to $2 million per borrower.
    • Collaborate with internal finance and legal teams, external banks, and borrowers to ensure accurate and timely loan closings.
    • Maintain accurate records of all loan agreements and track deliverables and timelines.
    • Serve as liaison between the company and external lenders for document processing.
  • Contract Standardization and Administration (40%)
    • Develop, refine, and maintain standardized contract templates for live production operations.
    • Work closely with operations and legal teams to ensure contracts meet regulatory and business requirements.
    • Centralize and manage the repository of production contracts and documentation to ensure consistency and compliance.
    • Identify process improvement opportunities to reduce cycle time and manual rework.
  • Legal Operations Support
    • Serve as the point of contact for all contract and document administration related to live production
    • Stay updated on relevant regulations, lending practices, and industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred; Paralegal certification preferred.
  • Minimum 1 years of experience in a paralegal, legal assistant, or loan documentation role, preferably in:
    • A law firm supporting commercial real estate or lending transactions.
    • A bank supporting a loan officer or acting as a closing documentation specialist.
    • A corporate legal department focused on agricultural or operations-related contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of contract drafting and closing procedures.
  • Familiarity with loan documentation and related compliance.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage large volumes of documentation.
  • Comfortable working on-site in Laurel and coordinating with both corporate and field personnel.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and legal document management systems such as DocuSign.
