Research & Writing Attorney

Job Description

ProspectBlue has partnered with a reputable firm based in Richmond, VA and is seeking a full-time Research & Writing Attorney . The ideal candidate will report to the firm President and may be located in any of their Virginia offices (Richmond, Chesterfield, Petersburg, Mechanicsville, Fredericksburg, Stafford or Charlottesville). This role will work as part of a team with lead Trial Attorneys, performing research, analysis, writing, and other work on personal injury, product liability, premises liability, medical malpractice, and sex abuse survivor cases. Judicial clerkship experience in appellate or federal court is strongly preferred.

Requirements:
• Exceptional legal research and writing skills.
• Experience drafting and arguing contested legal motions.
• Interest and willingness to focus on research of complicated legal issues.
• Law Review experience is preferred.
• Mock trial or Moot Court experience is helpful but not required.
• Must be licensed to practice in Virginia.

Responsibilities include:
• Complex research and analysis
• Client contact, written discovery, preparation for mediations, hearings and trials.
• Preparation of appellate briefs, motions, and legal memoranda
• Practice involves state and federal cases
