Associate Construction Litigation Attorney


Level: Associate, 2-7 years

Schedule: Onsite, Full-time; Hybrid may be available

Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 per year

A distinguished law firm known for its expertise in construction law and litigation, representing both governmental and private entities across the southeastern United States. The firm assists contractors, owners, developers, sureties, and designer professionals through all phases of construction, from bid procurement to project close-out, dispute resolution, and litigation. Their attorneys are frequently recognized in prestigious legal publications such as Best Lawyers in America® and Florida Super Lawyers.


Description:

The firm is seeking an Associate Construction Litigation Attorney with 2 to 5 years of experience to join its highly regarded practice. This role is ideal for a candidate with strong tenure at a firm or a prestigious academic pedigree, eager to develop their litigation skills in a complex and high-stakes environment. The associate will handle a variety of construction-related disputes and transactions, working alongside seasoned attorneys on cases involving large-scale construction projects.


Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in representing clients in construction disputes, including defect litigation, contract disputes, bid protests, and financing conflicts.
  • Conducting legal research and drafting pleadings, motions, and legal correspondence.
  • Participating in alternative dispute resolution proceedings such as mediation and arbitration.
  • Collaborating with senior attorneys on case strategy and trial preparation.
  • Advising clients on procurement processes, contract negotiations, and compliance matters.
  • Attending court hearings, depositions, and client meetings.


Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Florida Bar (or eligibility for admission).
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in construction litigation or commercial litigation with exposure to construction law.
  • Strong academic background and/or tenure with a respected law firm.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
  • Experience in mediation, arbitration, and contract negotiations preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong client service orientation and business development mindset.
