Job Description

Join our dynamic personal injury legal team as a Counsel Support Associate. In this role, you'll provide essential administrative support to Client Legal Services Attorneys, ensuring the smooth management of legal proceedings. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on legal experience in a collaborative, mentorship-driven environment with exposure to personal injury and civil litigation cases across the state of Texas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Legal Document Management: Enter and manage petitions, discovery, motions, trial documents, and legal correspondence using the case management system.
  • Case Lifecycle Coordination: From the time a lawsuit is received, support tasks including assigning the case, preparing and sending letters of representation to client(s), filing notices of appearance with Texas courts, tracking financials, drafting and filing answers, sending notices of depositions or hearings, corresponding with opposing counsel, and ensuring proper file closure.
  • Calendar Management: Add mediation, deposition, trial, and hearing dates, to attorney calendar and confirm appearance prior to scheduled event.
  • Client & Court Communication: Maintain communication with clients, courts, claim representatives, and opposing counsel via phone, email, and written correspondence—strong people skills are essential.
  • Administrative Support: Timely handle document notifications and emails; manage daily administrative duties with a high level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Ensure data accuracy and compliance using the Team Connect Litigation Management System.
  • Problem Solving: Investigate and resolve administrative challenges while remaining open to feedback and learning opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Legal administrative support experience in a personal injury or civil litigation setting in Texas is a plus, but not required. Exposure to a legal office environment is helpful. Candidates with transferable skills and a strong interest in legal administrative work are encouraged to apply.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Exceptionally organized and task-oriented.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Comfortable handling sensitive information.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This role does not include supervisory duties.

Education & Experience (in lieu)
An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in place of the stated requirements.

Compensation

Compensation offered for this role is $19.23 - 31.49 per hour and is based on experience and qualifications.
