Job Summary

Apply today! We are a mid-sized Firm searching for an exceptionally skilled Paralegal with outstanding written and verbal communication skills to join our team. Qualified candidates must be able to organize & manage documents, compile data using various litigation databases, calendar & manage deadlines for litigation team, draft reports for clients, draft pleadings and notices, work with experts, electronically file (ECF) in state and federal courts and communicate with court personnel. Experience working in Defense Litigation is preferred, with asbestos and other mass tort experience as a plus.  

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Must be able to electronically file (ECF) in state and federal courts
  • Prioritize large volumes of daily incoming information, prepare document productions, deposition notebooks, trial exhibits, reviewing/requesting medical records, responding to/drafting discovery, deposition scheduling/summaries, and bates labeling, etc.
  • Ability to work well both independently & as part of a team
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or related field preferred.
  • Some related work experience required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
