In this position, you will report to the Vice President & Associate General Counsel for Employment and Labor. You will provide independent, strategic advice and direction on a wide range of issues across the BAE Systems, Inc. enterprise while helping drive the development of enterprise policies and procedures.

This position is part of the Legal Department, an enthusiastic and highly productive team, where you will have the opportunity to grow your skills and work on challenging projects. We also offer flexible working arrangements (including a 9/80 schedule), tuition assistance, and a 6% match with immediate vesting on 401(k) contributions.

Key responsibilities:
  • Continue to develop and mature the Company's privacy program in a dynamic and evolving regulatory landscape.
  • Provide legal advice and counseling on US and international privacy compliance issues.
  • Provide legal advice and counseling on data governance, records management, and related legal issues.
  • Continue to develop and mature enterprise-wide record retention and data governance policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective implementation of record retention and data governance policies.
  • Coordinate with executive stakeholders to revise, review, and manage all BAE Systems policies.
  • Provide support on ad hoc requests, including: reviewing and drafting contracts; analyzing and interpreting laws and regulations; developing and implementing policies and procedures; and creating and delivering training programs


  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as an attorney
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously


  • Two years of experience in Privacy Program Management
  • Certification in information governance, data privacy, or a related field (e.g., CIPM, CIPP, IGP)
  • Experience as in-house counsel
  • Experience in the aerospace and defense industry
  • Familiarity with data management and analytics tools (e.g., data mapping, data inventory)
