The United States Space Force (USSF) at Patrick Space Force Base is searching for an Equal Employment Specialist for SLD 45 (NH-0260-02, GS5-11 equivalent).

Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate for the Equal Employment Specialist position is a highly-principled and empathetic professional who thrives on fostering a fair and equitable workplace. This individual must be a self-starter with impeccable attention to detail, capable of navigating complex and sensitive situations with neutrality and integrity. As a natural collaborator and trusted advisor, they will possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral), enabling them to effectively counsel employees, advise senior leadership, and conduct engaging training. The role demands a proactive problem-solver who can adhere to and interpret established policies while remaining adaptable to changing guidance, consistently working to resolve issues at the lowest level and ensure equitable treatment for all personnel.

Equal Opportunity Expertise: A strong understanding of federal Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Military Equal Opportunity (MEO) laws, regulations, principles, and complaint processing procedures. The candidate should have experience in advising on employee rights and responsibilities and be skilled in applying these standards to resolve workplace issues.
- Conflict Resolution and Counseling Skills: Proven ability in alternative dispute resolution (ADR), mediation, and facilitation. The candidate must be adept at advising and counseling individuals through sensitive matters, conducting inquiries, and applying conventional fact-finding and analysis to identify problems, draw sound conclusions, and recommend appropriate actions.
- Communication and Training Experience: Exceptional written and oral communication skills are essential for presenting informational briefings, authoring reports, and promoting EO initiatives. The candidate should be skilled in developing and delivering training to audiences and establishing effective working relationships with managers, supervisors, and employees from a variety of backgrounds.
- Education and Training: While a bachelor's degree is preferred, it is not required. Highly desirable candidates will have completed the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI) EO/EEO Counselor's Course or possess equivalent training and certification. A foundational knowledge of federal personnel administration principles and practices is also beneficial.


Salary
  • $40,632 - $96,830/year
Conditions of Employment
  • Must be a U.S Citizen.
  • PCS and Incentives funding is not available.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance.
  • Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
  • May be required travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
  • May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
  • Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed "unscheduled telework"
