The Appellate Attorney role provides a new hire with the uniquely experiential opportunity to immerse themselves in the day-to-day bustle of a prestigious Commercial and Appellate

Job Description: As an Appellate Attorney you will:

  • Manage complex, multi-faceted, appellate, and commercial litigation cases with significant impact for our financial services clients.
  • Independently prepare appellate briefs, motions, pleadings, responses, and other documents.
  • Litigate cases before New York trial and appellate courts.
  • Research, draft, and analyze federal, state and local regulations or laws.
  • Develop legal strategies and provide internal and client strategy recommendations.
  • Manage appellate deadlines.
  • Prepare for and attend escalated court appearances including, hearings and appellate arguments.
  • No annual billable requirements.
  • Flexible hybrid in-office schedule; would consider full-time virtual schedule for the proper candidate.

Requirements:

  • Appellate experience at the state level and familiarity with appellate rules.
  • Strong analytical, writing, research, and communication skills.
  • Sophisticated knowledge of the rules of civil procedure.
  • Ability to work in collaboration with other team members.
  • Strong worth ethic and clear interest in appellate and motion practice.
  • Experience managing deadlines and caseload.
  • New York barred for 3+ years.


Required Education and Training

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Membership in the New York bar
  • 3+ years of litigation experience


Salary: $135,000-$175,000; commensurate with experience
