The Paralegal will support all aspects of the business and work closely with the General Counsel, Corporate Secretary, senior executives, staff attorneys, legal department and business teams. 

While collaborating effectively with the above, in this role you will...

  • Prepare, submit, and lifecycle track of insurance rate, rule, and form filings.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and state insurance regulators.
  • Initiate EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) transactions and reconcile subsequent expenses.
  • Manage various corporate governance processes and systems in order to comply with insurance regulations including OFAC screening protocols and coordinate Special Investigation Unit (SIU) reporting.
  • Ensure timely submission of corporate governance documents for various corporate entities and maintain accurate and compliant corporate entity records for licensed entities.
  • Manage the operational workflow for Department of Insurance (DOI) complaints.
  • Perform administrative duties as necessary including managing daily receipt of legal documents to ensure they are accurately sorted, processed, reviewed, and scanned to the appropriate persons.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned.

We are looking for candidates with…

  • BA or BS degree preferred.
  • Paralegal Certificate from a program accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA).
  • Active Indiana Notary Public or successfully complete state requirements to obtain a Notary Public commission within 30 to 60 days of hire date.
  • 3-5 years of paralegal experience, preferably in insurance regulatory compliance or corporate law.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams and Outlook).
  • Proficient in Westlaw or LexisNexis.
  • Working knowledge of SERFF, IRFS and/or UCAA preferred.
  • Strong understanding of commercial property casualty insurance products preferred.
  • Strong understanding of ISO Commerical Lines, manuals, circulars and regulatory compliance preferred.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Excellent analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities; strong written and verbal communication; exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize workload, and complete assignments accurately with limited supervision.
