
Clark County Indiana is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Court Reporter for Circuit Court 4. Circuit Court 4 is primarily responsible for Criminal, all Juvenile matters, Minor Guardianships, Adoptions, Family Recovery Court, and Veteran's Court.
The candidate will be responsible for the recording and preservation of all court proceedings. A summary of responsibilities and qualifications is below:
~ Court Reporter designated by Court to perform official court reporting services including recording court sessions; answering phones; assisting the public with questions; preparing paperwork and court orders; scheduling hearings; communicate with law enforcement, jail personnel, litigants, attorneys, and law office staff
~ Proficiency with computer, office equipment and good verbal and written communication skills required
~ Ability to work under minimal supervision and accurately complete duties with frequent interruptions and pressure of deadlines
~Ability to work as a team to complete tasks and cross-train, maintain strict confidentiality of records and information
~Usual hours and days are Monday - Thursday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, and Friday, 8:30am to 4pm, with paid holidays and PTO; additional hours may be required based on court docket; proper dress attire required
~High School Diploma or GED required; College courses and/or experience in the legal field preferred
~ Physical requirements include prolonged periods of sitting and entering data, occasional lifting up to 25 lb., walking, standing, listening, hearing, speaking
~ This position is salaried, non-exempt. The base salary is $48,880.00 for 35 hours per week, paid bi-weekly. Hours worked in excess of 35 hours per week will be paid compensatory time. The position is eligible for longevity pay.
