Growing Plaintiffs’ employment litigation firm is seeking an experienced legal secretary to work in its Downtown LA office. The ideal candidate will have substantive employment litigation experience and also have experience with class action lawsuits. Bilingual in Spanish is a HUGE plus.
This is a demanding position which requires someone who is highly organized and detail oriented. Must be used to working in fast paced environments, able to prioritize assignments, multitask, and meet deadlines. Critical problem solving skills required. The nature of the job requires both teamwork and independent thinking. Required Responsibilities/Skills Include:
· Must be an experienced litigation legal secretary well versed in the litigation process;
· Must have a thorough knowledge of filing requirements in State and Federal Courts (including the new e-filing requirements);
· Must have experience with employment class actions matters (i.e. PAGA letters, etc.);
· Must have strong knowledge of MS Office, Wordperfect;
· Must be able to assist attorneys in responding to basic discovery requests;
· Must know how to arrange for service of process, court reporters for depositions, etc.;
· Must know how to calendar hearing dates and filing deadlines.
Salary: $20-$30/hr (DOE) + health insurance + paid sick days + paid parking. All inquiries are kept confidential.
Compensation: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
