The Conflicts Department Data Analyst supports the integrity and accuracy of the firm’s conflicts database. This role focuses on data entry, auditing, maintenance, and reporting to ensure that all parties, relationships, and matter data are up-to-date and in compliance with firm policy and ethical standards. The analyst plays a critical role in tracking the life cycle of party relationships across matters, managing affiliation updates, supporting intake and closure processes, and generating reports for the Conflicts Team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Review and validate data in the firm’s conflicts and related-party database for accuracy, completeness, and standardization
- Assist in the cleanup and organization of legacy conflict data, including proper designation of party roles
- Audit active and closed matters on a rolling basis to ensure party relationships are properly tracked throughout the matter life cycle
- Support the case closure process by updating final party statuses and verifying all conflict-related data is appropriately documented
- Monitor and track changes to related parties, affiliates, and adverse relationships based on new intakes, updated filings, or attorney notifications
- Assist in the transition and quality assurance of data between the firm’s management systems and new software platforms
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Billing, Operations, IT) to ensure data alignment across systems and support firmwide reporting needs
- Manage and maintain the filing of conflict-related documentation and ensure records are easily accessible and compliant with firm standards
- Generate regular and ad hoc reports for the Conflicts Team to assist in matter clearance, conflict tracking, and audit purposes
- Verify and validate data collected for the Conflicts and Operations Teams as part of the new business intake process
- Generate internal reports and metrics to track progress on data audits, cleanup initiatives, and intake/closure support tasks
- Follow documented standard operating procedures and escalate discrepancies or data issues to the Conflicts Supervisor
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (law, business, or a related field)
- Prior legal industry experience, compliance, or risk management is a plus
- Familiarity with legal case/matter management systems and conflict tracking software is a plus
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to follow established workflows
- Strong analytical and research skills with a keen eye for detail
- Proficiency with legal research tools and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly around documenting findings and communicating with supervisor and other teams
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment

Hourly Rate
$26.00-$36.00 per hour
Physical Requirements
Primarily sedentary work. Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to walk short distances, and/or drive a vehicle to deliver and pick up materials. Work can be performed with or without accommodations.
Travel
5 – 10% domestic travel by ground and or air, dependent on firm needs
