
Summary
Technical Responsibilities
Performs a variety of administrative tasks in support of the Corporate Legal Services function. Additional tasks include but are not limited to:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
General Characteristics
- Assists GAI’s Corporate Legal Counsel in researching and analyzing pertinent law documents, performing contract reviews, maintaining business and professional licenses, assisting in commercial and professional liability policy claims, and performing collections of overdue payments.
- Assist Corporate Counsel with tracking litigation matters and preparing for bi-weekly internal legal meetings
- Maintains legal files and databases, schedules meetings, and coordinates correspondence.
- Maintain GAI’s Contract Management Software.
- May file pleadings and prepare affidavits.
- May assist with discovery, investigating facts, researching and many other facets of law.
- Analyzes complex problems.
- Analyzes ethical dilemmas to recommend appropriate courses of action.
- Additional duties as assigned by GAI’s Corporate Legal Counsel
Communication, Teamwork and Leadership
- Possesses strong oral and written communication skills, including negotiation of critical issues and effective persuasive communication.
- Demonstrates legal acumen and familiarity with legal issues.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Management, Supervision and Guidance
- Receives administrative supervision with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.
- Integrates professional attitudes relevant to the practice of Legal Services and fosters creativity, curiosity, flexibility, and dependability in staff.
Education, Traits, and/or Experience
Education
- Associate degree from accredited college or university required, Bachelor’s degree preferred. Combination of experience, related coursework and/or education may replace requirement for college degree.
- Experience working with contract management software preferred.
- Experience working in a corporate environment.
Certification/Licensure
- Paralegal Certification preferred (ex: Certified Paralegal, Advanced Paralegal Certification, Professional Paralegal Certification, Accredited Legal Professional Certification, Professional Legal Secretary/Certified Legal Professional Certification).
Experience
- 4-6 years of experience.
Language Skills
- English as a first language or demonstrated verbal and written skills in English as a second language. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to demonstrate strong writing/communication skills. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Computer Skills
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of various software programs which may include job-specific software; Accounting software; HRIS software; ATS software; Database software; Internet software; Inventory software; Payroll systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software; and Word Processing software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Current, valid Driver’s License.
Other Qualifications
- Must be able to pass pre-employment background check as well as possible post-hire, client-based background checks as required.
- Must be willing to work in a drug free environment and agree to drug and alcohol testing if required.

Must pass MVR check to be confirmed as insurable to drive on company time/company vehicles; must be willing to travel as required by job.
