PART TIME LEGAL ASSISTANT

DEPARTMENT: Public Defender

HIRING RANGE: $22.03/hr

BENEFITS OFFERED                     No Benefits Offered

POSITION TO BE FILLED:             ASAP

HOURS & DAYS OF WORK:           To be determined-29 hour per week required

LOCATION OF POSITION:              Goshen/Elkhart

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:            Within County (please complete driving page on application)



JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for providing clerical assistance, performing data entry/retrieval, and researching and providing information/documents as needed for court proceedings.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or GED
Previous employment as a legal assistant background preferred-not required
Paralegal training and bilingual skills (English/Spanish) highly preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to work alone or with others in a team environment
Pre-employment background check and drug screen
