We are currently seeking a Part-Time Paralegal to join our team. This individual will function as a key member of the Legal team, interacting cross-functionally to deliver top-quality, timely results. The ideal candidate will work 20-25 hours a week and have strong communication and analytical skills, and will feel comfortable working cross-functionally on transactional, governance, and healthcare compliance, privacy and security matters. This role will report to our General Counsel. The ideal candidate will be based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support for the company’s patent portfolio, including maintaining accurate records, tracking deadlines and assisting with contract support.
- Play a key role in the management of contracts, corporate transactional documents, and corporate records, including: (1) contract review, (2) tracking of key terms such as expirations and renewals, and (3) generation and maintenance of various legal forms and templates.
- Draft, review, and coordinate execution of Non-Disclosure Agreements, ensuring alignment with company policies
- Support Legal on clinical arrangements, commercial transactions, corporate matters, and a variety of other legal and cross-functional projects.
- Support administration of the company’s privacy and corporate compliance programs.
- Support corporate governance activities, including the preparation of documents, filings, and registrations required to form and maintain entities and to comply with law.
- Assist with the creation, management, maintenance, and administration of training materials for business stakeholders.
- Manage existing legal technology solutions and identify and implement new solutions.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a Paralegal or in a similar operations role
- B.A. or B.S. Degree or a Paralegal Certificate required
- Knowledge and Proficiency in Ironclad (or other contract management platform), Salesforce and Microsoft Office Suite preferred
- Health care experience, including clinical trial management, HIPAA, and corporate / healthcare compliance
- Impressive organizational and project management skills
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy and data integrity
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
- A positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a high standard for professionalism and customer service
- Ability to work with team members and cross-functionally at all levels while remaining proactive, resourceful, and efficient
- Experience reading and reviewing contract terms
