What You'll Do

  • Case Management: Oversee and manage bankruptcy cases from inception to resolution, ensuring all legal procedures and deadlines are met.
  • Document Preparation: Draft, review, and file legal documents related to bankruptcy proceedings, including petitions, schedules, motions, and notices.
  • Client Interaction: Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and guidance throughout the bankruptcy process. Address client inquiries and concerns promptly.
  • Court Representation: Represent clients in court hearings and meetings with creditors. Prepare and present arguments, evidence, and legal strategies.
  • Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research on bankruptcy and other relevant laws, precedents, and case law to support case preparation and strategy development.
  • Negotiations: Negotiate with creditors, trustees, and other parties involved in bankruptcy cases to reach favorable settlements and agreements for clients.
  • Compliance: Ensure all actions and documents comply with federal and state bankruptcy laws and regulations.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to coordinate case activities and share information.
  • Client Counseling: Provide legal advice and counseling to clients on bankruptcy options, implications, and strategies to achieve their financial goals.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on changes in bankruptcy and other relevant law, and participate in continuing legal education (CLE) opportunities to enhance expertise
  • Other Duties: Perform such other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
 

What You Need

  • 3–6+ years of legal practice, with a focus on corporate bankruptcy (preferred). Will consider candidates with litigation experience who have exposure to bankruptcy matters.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in managing complex bankruptcy cases (e.g., Chapter 11, Subchapter V).
  • Strong drafting, research, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to represent clients in court and negotiate effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interactions.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Mindset: A collaborative, client-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

       

Salary & Benefits

  • Location: Hybrid in Los Angeles, CA.
  • Annual Salary: $105,000.00 - $170,000.00 +, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • This is a full-time, long-term position.
