All positions require that the applicant be a resident of Wyandotte county or willing to relocate within (12) months from the date of hire. As a condition of employment all employees must pass a post offer physical examination and drug screen. And submit proof of identity and employment eligibility.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Professional Program Assistant (Victims Advocate) will coordinate and provide advocacy services associated with cases being prosecuted by the Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office. This position will respond to calls, letters and emails from individuals affected by crime, and refer them to local resources with their area of need. They will serve as a liaison for victims and families with the assigned prosecutor and attend court hearings with the victims and witnesses. The Victim Advocate will document all encounters with victims and witnesses in the JustWare database and will disseminate notifications to victims of all prosecutorial procedures. This position will have supervisory and leadership responsibilities pertaining to the other Victim Advocates, this may include training, performance review, case assignment etc. Victims Advocate will assist with grant compliance. Other office related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one year of related program experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Valid Kansas Driver’s License

Salary Range:

$33.21-$51.87/hr.
