Position Summary:

The Project Manager- Operational Improvement will drive key projects aimed at optimizing business operations, solving complex problems, and ensuring efficient processes. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with excellent communication skills and a track record of delivering process improvements. This is a full-time, in-person position offering an opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to make a significant impact on organizational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Lead and manage multiple projects from initiation through completion, coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver results on time and within budget. Ensure project scope, timelines, and resources are effectively controlled throughout the project lifecycle.
- Operational Optimization: Analyze current operational processes to identify inefficiencies or areas for improvement. Develop and implement actionable plans to optimize workflows, increase productivity, and reduce costs while maintaining quality standards.
- Problem Solving: Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to overcome project obstacles and address operational challenges. Proactively manage risks and devise effective solutions to keep initiatives on track and achieve project objectives.
- Presentations & Communication: Prepare and deliver clear, compelling presentations on project plans, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders, including executive leadership. Communicate project status and recommendations in a concise manner, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and securing buy-in for key initiatives.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with various departments (e.g., operations, finance, IT, etc.) to implement process changes and improvements. Facilitate collaboration and knowledge-sharing among team members and ensure that all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the project. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by monitoring project outcomes and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and inform future optimizations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) is strongly preferred. An advanced degree (MBA or similar) is a plus.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in project management, operations, or process improvement roles, with a proven track record of delivering projects successfully and driving operational changes. Experience leading projects from planning through execution and working with cross-functional teams is essential.
- Project Management Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage project scope, timelines, and budgets effectively. Familiarity with project management methodologies (traditional and/or agile) and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving: Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and metrics to make informed decisions. Capable of identifying root causes of issues and implementing data-driven solutions.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. Ability to distill complex information into clear, concise reports and presentations. Experience communicating with and presenting to senior executives is highly valued.
- Leadership & Teamwork: Proven leadership abilities in a team environment. Ability to influence and guide cross-functional teams without direct authority, driving alignment and collaboration to achieve project goals.
Physical Requirements:
- Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions.
- Stationary Position – Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
- Move or Traverse – This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, office machinery, etc. May occasionally ascends/descends the stairs to get to other floors, cafeteria and parking area.
- Dexterity – constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine/printer.
- Move, Transport, Position, Put, Install, Remove - Occasionally moves supplies weighing up to 10 pounds for various presentation and event needs.
- Communicate, Detect, Converse with, Discern, Convey, Express oneself, Exchange information - The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Detect, Determine, Perceive, Identify, Recognize, Judge, Observe, Inspect, Estimate, Assess - The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
