Job Description

Employment Attorney (3–5 Years Experience)

📍 Omaha, NE

We are seeking an Employment Attorney with 3–5 years of experience to join our Omaha office. The ideal candidate is a management-side employment law generalist with a strong balance of litigation and advisory experience.

This is a rare opportunity to step in as a foundational member of a growing employment practice, with direct partner mentorship, long-term growth, and the ability to help shape the direction of the group within a highly respected and stable firm.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will operate at the intersection of strategy and execution, acting as a trusted advisor to employers while also leading litigation efforts:

  • Represent employers in employment litigation matters, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims
  • Manage cases from inception through resolution, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation
  • Counsel corporate clients on compliance with federal and state employment laws
  • Draft and review employment-related documents such as policies, handbooks, and employment agreements
  • Handle administrative proceedings before agencies such as the EEOC and Nebraska Equal Opportunity Commission
  • Provide proactive, day-to-day legal guidance to clients on workplace issues, risk mitigation, and best practices
  • Support internal employment-related matters within the firm as needed
  • Partner closely with leadership to help build and scale the firm’s employment law practice

Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Deliver high-quality legal work with strong attention to detail and deadlines
  • Maintain direct client relationships and provide strategic, business-focused counsel
  • Collaborate with partners and cross-functional teams across the firm
  • Contribute to practice development, including thought leadership and potential client growth initiatives
  • Demonstrate ownership of matters and the ability to work both independently and within a team

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Licensed and in good standing (Nebraska or ability to waive in)
  • 3–5 years of employment law experience (management-side preferred)
  • Experience with both litigation and counseling work
  • Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

This isn’t just another associate role. This is your chance to help build something from the ground up while backed by a firm that already has the infrastructure, reputation, and deal flow to support your growth.

If you’re looking for ownership, visibility, and long-term upside in your legal career, this is where strategy meets opportunity.
