Submit an application here at GovernmentJobs.com General Summary This attorney position focuses on policy and legal issues within the scope of the Commerce Committee and its subcommittees, which may include one or more of the following: transportation infrastructure, utilities and telecommunications, insurance, banking and finance, regulation of businesses and professions, building codes, housing, agriculture, and economic development. The attorney conducts research, including legal research, related to assigned matters; analyzes legislation; drafts bills, amendments, analyses of bills, legal memoranda, and other documents; and provides counsel and advice to the committee and legislators. FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE: Pursuant to sections 112.3144 and 112.3145, F.S., this position is required to electronically file a Form 1 –Statement of Financial Interests with the Florida Commission on Ethics within 30 days of hire. Examples of Work Performed Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Minimum Qualifications Attorney in good standing with The Florida Bar. Preferred Qualifications Experience with matters within the scope of one or more of subcommittees within the Commerce Committee (as described above) and/or with the legislative process.
