JOB SUMMARY
The Compliance Department oversees the Firm’s Consumer Compliance Management System (CCMS).
The CCMS is how the Firm establishes and manages its compliance responsibilities, including creating internal processes and procedures (P&P) addressing compliance requirements; communicating about compliance responsibilities to employees: working with the Firm’s Executive Leadership and management to ensure that legal requirements are met; and incorporating internal P&Ps into the Firm’s processes.
The Compliance program is an independent and objective authority that reviews, promotes, and evaluates regulatory compliance matters within the Firm. The Compliance Department ensures the Firm and its operations are in compliance with consumer financial protection laws (state and federal), case law, and any other applicable rules and regulations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Legal Compliance Administrative Assistant, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks in support of Compliance Department managers, including but not limited to:
- Assist in the development of Firm processes and policies for purposes of compliance with applicable laws and client work standards
- Identify needed Compliance department processes and procedures or updates to current processes and procedures to minimize risk to the Firm and clients
- Assist with client audits, compliance internal audits, and vendor audits
- Assist with internal letter template audits
- Report complaints and resolutions pursuant to client notification requirements
- Properly notate and restrict collection files
- Prepare logs in accordance with client requirements
- Conduct internal investigations
- Log remediations when Compliance issues corrective action to other offices in the Firm
- Issue and track remediations
- Work with outside vendors and subcontractors to assist with call reviews.
- Communicate and respond to client inquiries or requests.
- All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Associate degree is preferred
- 1 year of previous legal collection experience in a high-volume collection and/or customer service environment is preferred
- Ability to multitask
- Have a high level of attention to detail
- Ability to understand internal processes and systems related to debt collections
- Competency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Familiarity with CLS is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- In-depth understanding of state and federal consumer protection laws and client requirements/standards
- Strong time management skills
- Self-motivated
- Ability to learn quickly and train others if needed
- Familiar with A.I. and its use.

TRAVEL – This position requires up to 0-5% travel. Travel excludes local commute.
