Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Estate Planning Attorney to assist clients in creating comprehensive estate plans that protect and distribute their assets according to their wishes. The ideal candidate will have strong legal and financial expertise, excellent interpersonal skills, and a deep understanding of estate, trust, and tax laws.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to assess their financial situations and estate planning goals.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain personalized estate plans including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
  • Analyze estate and tax implications to minimize liabilities and maximize wealth transfer.
  • Provide education to clients about estate planning strategies and legal options.
  • Coordinate with attorneys, financial advisors, and tax professionals to ensure a cohesive planning process.
  • Review and update estate plans as needed to reflect life changes, tax law changes, or evolving client goals.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist SWAs with existing clients with estate planning issues.
  • Assist SWAs with prospects with EP issues.
  • A resource to SWAs on EP issues.
  • Stay up to date with changes in estate and tax law.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of industry experience
  • At least one of the following is required: JD, LLM(tax), CFP® 
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and
  • Experience with eMoney, Vanilla, or other planning software is preferred 

Skills and Knowledge

  • Demonstrated knowledge and facilitation of sales cycle/process 
  • Strong presentation skills, including ability to persuade and build trust 
  • Intellectual curiosity; Demonstrate a passion for ongoing learning and openness to new ways of doing things
  • Considerable experience with estate and trust planning
  • Ability to change direction quickly while remaining focused and productive 
  • Collaborative; cultivates strong authentic relationships inside and outside the group; willingness and desire to work across organizational silos 
  • High degree of integrity and confidentiality.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency in estate planning software and CRM tools.
  • Experience working with high-net-worth individuals or families.
  • Multistate estate planning knowledge is a plus.
