Job Description
Moore & Van Allen PLLC, a dynamic and fast-growing full-service law firm of more than 400 attorneys and professionals, is seeking a document clerk to support our Corporate Tax team in the Charlotte, NC office.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Acquiring, organizing and processing client data and documentation.
- Preparing binders for current or closed transactions
- Other corporate tax focused administrative tasks as assigned
- Preparing preliminary drafts of correspondences and legal documents
- Conducting preliminary research, under guidance of a paralegal or attorney
- Helping to maintain efficient workflows and ensures accurate documentation within legal transactions
- Regular in-person attendance is required to perform essential functions of this interactive position.
Qualifications & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelors degree is preferred.
- Prior experience is not required, but rather a willingness and ability to learn.
- The position will have multiple points of contact within the team and will require strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate and prioritize tasks on a daily basis.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel required; Some familiarity with Microsoft Access preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- The work is primarily sedentary.
- It requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
- The work requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
- The work at times requires bending, squatting, and reaching, with the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull light weights.
