Mid-Level Litigation Associate | Insurance Defense and Transportation Law

Deliverance Law Group PLLC is seeking a motivated, dependable Litigation Associate with approximately 3–8 years of litigation experience to join our growing Dallas-based legal team. The ideal candidate can evaluate cases, identify key issues, develop practical litigation plans, and work closely with clients and senior trial counsel throughout the life of each matter. Our firm handles a varied civil-litigation practice, including transportation, insurance defense, commercial litigation, construction-related matters, and other complex civil disputes. The specific mix of matters assigned will depend on current caseloads, new clients, and the needs of the firm.

This is a full-time position based in our Dallas office. Regular in-office attendance is expected five days per week.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate facts, legal issues, liability, damages, and litigation risk.
• Develop and implement litigation strategies in collaboration with clients and supervising attorneys.
• Manage assigned civil-litigation matters from early case assessment through resolution, mediation, or trial.
• Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, briefs, responses, correspondence, client reports, and other substantive litigation documents.
• Manage written discovery, document collection, case deadlines, and discovery disputes.
• Take and defend depositions appropriate to the attorney's experience and assigned matters.
• Prepare for and attend hearings, depositions, mediations, client meetings, court proceedings, and trials.
• Communicate directly with clients, insurers, corporate representatives, drivers, safety personnel, experts, witnesses, opposing counsel, and other case stakeholders, as appropriate.
• Work with senior trial counsel on case strategy, motion practice, mediation preparation, and trial preparation.
• Maintain organized case files, timely work product, accurate time entries, and professional client communications.
• Travel occasionally for hearings, depositions, trials, and other litigation-related needs.
• Manage a diverse caseload involving insurance defense, transportation law, personal injury claims, and general litigation.
• Conduct thorough legal research using platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies and statutory analysis.
• Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, motions, contracts, discovery requests, and settlement agreements with precision.
• Prepare for trial by organizing evidence, developing case theories, and participating in court depositions and hearings.
• Negotiate settlements effectively while maintaining client interests through clear communication and strategic advocacy.
• Collaborate with clients, witnesses, experts, and colleagues to gather information and build compelling cases.
• Stay current on procedural law updates and relevant regulations across jurisdictions to ensure compliance and optimal case handling.

Required Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active law license in good standing.
• Approximately 3–8 years of attorney-level litigation experience.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to evaluate cases, identify material issues, and help develop litigation strategies.
• Experience drafting substantive litigation documents, including pleadings, discovery, motions, briefs, and responses.
• Ability to manage multiple active matters, deadlines, and competing priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Dependable work ethic, accountability, professionalism, and sound judgment.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a professional, in-office law-firm environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Second-chair trial experience (strongly preferred).
• Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
• If licensed in another jurisdiction, a clear and timely path to Texas admission.
• Experience in insurance defense, transportation or trucking litigation, commercial litigation, construction litigation, or comparable civil-litigation practice areas.
• Federal-court experience.
• Experience taking or defending depositions, handling hearings, attending mediations, and preparing matters for trial.
• Experience working directly with insurers, corporate clients, transportation companies, drivers, safety personnel, experts, or other commercial stakeholders.

Salary

• $135,000 - $165,000/year
