Job Description
The Department of the Navy (DON) Office of General Counsel (OGC) seeks an exceptional leader to serve as the Assistant General Counsel (National Security Law). The AGC (NSL) is responsible for DON intelligence law matters and serves as the senior intelligence law expert under the Principal Deputy General Counsel (PDGC). This is a Tier 2 position in the Senior Executive Service (SES).
Duties- You will provide expert advice and counsel on intelligence matters, intelligence-related matters, compartmented programs, and sensitive activities conducted or supported by the DON, ensuring all matters are in compliance with law and regulation.
- You will serve as principal legal advisor to the DON Special Access Program Central Office and provide oversight of compartmented acquisitions, Special Access Programs (SAPs), Controlled Access Programs (CAPs), as executed and supported by the DON.
- You will provide advice and counsel to senior intelligence law professionals within the DON and serve as a resource for other DON OGC attorneys concerning intelligence legal issues.
- You will supervise staff of senior attorneys and oversee the quality of legal advice on issues related to intelligence activities.
