Trenam Law is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant with at least 3+ years of experience supporting real estate attorneys, specifically in commercial real estate and land use and zoning matters. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate a strong desire to learn, possess advanced technical skills, and exhibit a natural commitment to excellent client service. This position will be based in our downtown St. Petersburg office.

 

Summary/Objective:
This role enhances attorney effectiveness by providing high-level transactional and administrative support to the Real Estate and Land Use/Zoning practice groups. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and highly organized, with demonstrated experience supporting complex real estate transactions and land use and zoning matters.


Key Responsibilities Include:
•Managing and maintaining real estate transaction files, and organization of closing documents

• Formatting, and proofreading contracts, agreements, and legal correspondence

• Tracking key transaction dates and managing timelines

• Supporting land use attorneys with zoning applications, permitting processes, and municipal filings

• Communicating professionally with clients, governmental agencies, and other parties involved in the transaction

• Coordinating document execution, notarization, and recording with appropriate authorities

• Assisting with conflict checks, new matter intake, and accurate entry of all relevant documents into the Firm’s document management system




Requirements

 

Qualifications:  

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Legal Assistant supporting real estate attorneys; prior experience in commercial real estate and/or land use and zoning matters strongly preferred

• Familiarity with transactional processes including purchase and sale agreements, commercial leasing, and closing procedures

• Working knowledge of land use and zoning processes, including agency filings and permit tracking

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, agencies, and team members

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with document and case management systems such as iManage
