Job Title: Paralegal

Location: 26701 Telegraph Rd, Southfield, MI 48033

Timings:  8:00 AM to 04:30 PM; 30 Minutes Lunch

Onsite 3-4 days per week in Southfield, 1-2 days remote. Schedule to be determined.

 

Job Description: 

Qualifications:

  • We are seeking a highly organized and detail oriented temporary Paralegal to provide direct support to the Legal Department in the areas of corporate registrations, entity governance, contract coordination, legal billing, matter management, and legal operations in the U.S. and Canada. The ideal candidate has prior experience working with legal billing systems, understands corporate registration requirements, matter management systems, and thrives in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Reporting the Head of Legal, Compliance & Insurance Americas, this role will partner closely with internal stakeholders, outside counsel, and regulatory agencies to ensure the company meets all corporate, statutory, and compliance obligations.

 

Key Responsibilities -

Corporate Governance and Entity Management:

  • Prepare and file annual state registrations, business licenses, name change registrations, and other required state and local filings for the U.S. and Canada.
  • Manage registered agent system and track filing deadlines to ensure timely submissions to avoid penalties or lapses.
  • Maintain corporate records, including shareholder and board resolutions and other organizational compliance records.

Contract and Document Support:

  • Draft, edit, format, and maintain standard legal forms, templates, and agreements under attorney direction. Review and approve NDAs for the business units.
  • Assist with document organization and e-signature workflows.
  • Maintain matter management system and track legal deadlines for litigation matters.

Legal Operations and Billing:

  • Manage and support the legal billing process, including invoice review, matter management, accrual tracking, and vendor coordination.
  • Work within legal billing/e-billing platforms to ensure accuracy, compliance with billing guidelines, and timely processing.
  • Generate reports and analytics related to legal spend, budgets, and vendor performance.

General Support:

  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and data integrity across all legal materials.
  • Support special projects, process improvements, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Serve as a professional, responsive point of contact for internal departments and external partners for the legal department.


Details:

Responsibilities:

Required:

  • Associate degree, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of paralegal experience, preferably within a corporate legal department or law firm.
  • Experience with legal billing and e-billing systems.
  • Strong understanding of corporate compliance requirements and multi-state filings.
  • Excellent organizational, documentation, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, comfort working with databases and document management systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience with U.S. and Canada corporate governance.
  • Experience supporting corporate secretarial functions.
  • Familiarity with regulatory environments relevant to manufacturing or chemical industries.

Comments/Special Instructions

  • This will be a long-term assignment, at least six months onsite 3-4 days per week in Southfield, 1-2 days remote. Schedule to be determined.
