Master’s degree in legal studies, a Juris Doctor or related field, or equivalent professional paralegal experience. Teaching core paralegal courses, including Introduction to Paralegal Studies, Torts, and Contracts etc. Effectively direct paralegal practicums. Must be able to provide regular in-person instruction as assigned.

Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday. Teaching assignments may be made at YSU’s main location in Youngstown, Ohio, the Steubenville, Ohio location, or for remote courses. Must be able to provide regular in-person instruction as assigned.

Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: None.
Sponsorship and/or Work Authorization Status: Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Minimum Qualifications: At least a master’s degree in legal studies or Juris Doctor or equivalent professional paralegal experience. Able to teach standard paralegal courses, e.g., Introduction to Paralegal Studies, Torts, Contracts, etc. Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Experienced in online and in-person teaching in directing paralegal practicums.
Physical Requirements: In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this position will perform sedentary work.Sedentary: work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs may be defined as Sedentary when walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other Sedentary criteria aremet.
