We are seeking a Senior Counsel to join our Commercial Center of Excellence within the UL Solutions Legal Department. This role is a strategic partner to our global business teams, providing practical, business-oriented legal advice on commercial transactions and related matters. You will play a key role in supporting UL Solutions’ core testing, inspection, and certification businesses, driving process improvements, and enabling growth in a dynamic, international environment.
Responsibilities
Contracting: Negotiate and draft a wide range of commercial agreements, including master services agreements, terms and conditions, confidentiality agreements, and related documentation.
Business Partnership: Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, delivering clear, actionable guidance on commercial and operational issues.
Process Optimization: Lead initiatives to streamline contracting processes, develop playbooks, and enhance contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools (currently Ironclad).
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal and operational risks in new and existing service offerings; provide pragmatic solutions aligned with business objectives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with global stakeholders to implement best practices and ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable laws.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to legal department projects, policy development, and operational enhancements.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
Education: JD from an accredited law school; active state bar membership.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant legal experience, with strong background in commercial contracting.
Skills:

Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career . The estimated salary range for this position is $170,000 to $200,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 20% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
