Summary

We are seeking an experienced  Workers' Compensation Paralegal to join our team. As a Workers' Compensation Paralegal you will work closely with our talented attorneys providing support before, during and after trials.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with all aspects of workers’ compensation cases, including filing claims, scheduling hearings, and preparing legal documents
  • Draft legal correspondence, motions, appeals, stipulations, and settlement agreements
  • Maintain and organize case files, medical records, and discovery materials
  • Communicate with clients, medical providers, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel
  • File documents with the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board (NYS WCB) and track case progress
  • Monitor deadlines and ensure timely filings and responses
  • Prepare hearing summaries and assist in trial preparation
  • Manage calendar of court dates, deadlines, and appointments

Qualification

  • Associate degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience (preferred)
  • Experience in Personal Injury, WC, Premises, or other injury related practice areas (preferred)
  • Must possess the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage workload with a positive attitude and minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient in calendaring depositions, mediations, and hearings
  • Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, and procedures, practices, etc.
  • Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Extensive computer and database expertise; Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and type no less than 35 wpm

Salary Range

$65,000 - $85,000 USD
