Purpose and Job Summary:
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates seeking a high level of responsibility to work closely with the real estate paralegal, account managers, and portfolio managers to deliver consistent and efficient legal support to institutional investors. In addition, the paralegal will assist Boston Financial, a wholly-owned subsidiary of a large public company, with its corporate compliance responsibilities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Create, qualify, maintain, and dissolve investment and corporate entities (corporations, limited liability companies, limited partnerships, and limited liability limited partnerships) and process vendor invoices regarding these entities (statutory representation, annual reports, good standing certificates, certified organizational documents, and formation and dissolution filings).
- Obtain EINs for new entities from the IRS and verify nonprofit status of third party entities.
- Draft formation and dissolution documents, annual reports, amendments to organizational documents, assignments and resolutions.
- Oversee annual report filings for approximately 1100 entities filed by our vendors.
- Maintain Boston Financial’s entity database and the electronic minute books for Boston Financial’s entities.
- Provide support to investment, refinancing, and disposition closings.
- Work professionally and harmoniously with team and coworkers.
Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education, Skills, & Experience
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in directly applicable experience and education
- Paralegal certification desired
- Minimum 5-6 years’ corporate paralegal experience
- Familiarity with affordable housing and LIHTC, preferred
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong Excel and Adobe skills
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize assignments and to meet critical and established deadlines. Ability to manage multiple assignments and transactions simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and to use discretion in the performance of daily activities
- Ability to learn quickly and demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a high-performance team
- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and constant interruptions. Ability to adjust priorities in a changing environment
