What you will do:

This is a part-time OPS position assisting the Office of Licensing in SunCoast Region, Department of Children and Families. The position will assist with Licensing functions conducted by the Office of General Counsel as follows:

  • Attends staffing’s upon request of the Office of Licensing or the Office of Child and Family Wellbeing, including Institutional cases.
  • Assesses requested action from Licensing and Investigations, including but not limited to the issuance of fines or other progressive discipline to childcare facilities and homes in the coverage area; and the issuance of injunctions under s. 39.302 Fla. Stat.
  • Assists with Complaints, Administrative Fines, and other progressive discipline of childcare facilities and homes in the subject area.
  • Drafts and files various pleadings, motions, orders, and other legal documents/memoranda.
  • Responsible for representing the Department in court and/or administrative hearings and generally obtains favorable outcomes at the same.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Member of the Florida Bar
