Overview:
A multi-state creditors’ rights law firm is seeking a highly motivated Litigation Paralegal with a minimum of 5 years of experience supporting federal civil litigation in New York and a strong background in consumer financial services law. This role requires attention to detail, litigation proficiency, and the ability to manage court deadlines and complex caseloads across New York’s federal jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support attorneys in all stages of federal civil litigation in New York’s federal courts
- Draft, review, and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence
- Conduct factual and legal research using PACER, CM/ECF, Lexis, and other tools
- Manage and organize case files and document productions
- Coordinate filings, calendar management, and docket monitoring in federal courts
- Assist in drafting, including compiling exhibits, binders, and court submissions
- Communicate with clients, court staff, vendors, and co-counsel as needed
- Maintain compliance with procedural rules and local court requirements
- Provide litigation support to attorneys working on financial services and regulatory matters
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of litigation paralegal experience, with at least 3 years focused on New York federal civil litigation
- Strong working knowledge of federal court procedures and e-filing systems (ECF/PACER)
- Experience supporting consumer financial services litigation or creditors’ rights matters preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, legal research tools, and document management systems
- Strong organizational, writing, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment
- Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate required
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of bankruptcy or foreclosure proceedings a plus
Salary: $60,000-$75,000
- $75,000 - $60,000/year
