Zwicker is presently seeking a Senior Attorney to join our dynamic team in our Rosemont, IL office. This role is onsite. The base salary range for this position is $105,000-$115,000 per year
Responsibilities
• Trial preparation, developing pre-trial strategies, including witness and evidence preparation, drafting and responding to discovery, depositions, and preparation of trial memoranda
• Orally examining witnesses, including fact and expert witnesses, under oath to gather information for a case
• Representing the client during the deposition by preparing them, making objections, and guiding their testimony
• Successfully prosecute trials, including direct and cross examination, and oral argument regarding admissibility of proffered evidence and testimony
• Successfully prepare and argue summary judgment motions, discovery dispute motions, and other motion practice, including unique, novel, or complex legal issues
• Attend hearings virtually or in person
• Competently conduct legal research, objectively identifying caselaw and preparing an accurate analysis of the state of the law
• Advise client on options and negotiate settlements with opposing parties
• Review litigation case files and pleadings to determine appropriate action
• Reviewing and signing pleadings as prepared by staff
• Analyze assigned inventory reports, communicating analysis to the managing attorney and/or office manager, and taking appropriate action
• Mentoring associate attorneys, including case review, preparing oral argument, and reviewing associate attorney work product
• Communicate effectively and appropriately with team members and outside parties
• Utilize internal proprietary software to properly update and document the status of each account in the assigned inventory
• Comply with all client and firm standard operating procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Minimum three years in a relevant high-volume litigation environment
• Extensive litigation skillset, which includes the expertise to effectively handle all phases of highly contested lawsuits, from trial preparation to negotiations with opposing parties
• Three years minimum handling a robust caseload from inception to resolution
• Experience in taking and defending depositions
• Excellent verbal and written advocacy
• Comprehensive understanding of litigation, client, and collections operations
• Willingness and ability to mentor associate attorneys
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Be able to read and comprehend position-specific documents and correspondence, which at times may be voluminous
• Be able to communicate in a common language with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing
• Be able to travel occasionally when needed by the most efficient means of transportation
• Be able to operate a computer, phone, or equivalent device
• Be able to complete a minimum of a 40-hour flexible workweek schedule

• Be able to sit 90% of the workday at times
• Be able to bend at the waist and be mobile when needed
• Be able to concentrate and use critical thinking
