Job Summary:
As a Title Closing Attorney at One Real Title, you will play a critical role in managing and finalizing real estate transactions. You will ensure the legal integrity of title documents, oversee escrow and settlement processes, and provide guidance to clients and team members. Your expertise in real estate law and ability to handle complex transactions will be key to ensuring client satisfaction and compliance with state and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Title Review and Clearance:
Review property title documents for accuracy and resolve any title defects or encumbrances.
Ensure all title documentation complies with applicable laws and regulations.
Closing Coordination:
Prepare and review settlement statements, deeds, and other closing documents.
Oversee and facilitate the closing process, ensuring a smooth transaction for all parties involved.
Conduct both in-person and online real estate closings, ensuring a smooth and compliant process for all parties involved.
Escrow Management:
Oversee escrow funds and disbursements in compliance with legal and company standards.
Collaborate with escrow officers to resolve any discrepancies or issues.
Legal Guidance:
Provide legal advice to clients, agents, and lenders on title and escrow matters.
Address and resolve legal issues that arise during the transaction process.
Client and Partner Relations:
Prepare training material and conduct agent training during educational and marketing events.
Build and maintain strong relationships with real estate agents, lenders, and clients.
Communicate clearly and effectively with all parties to ensure a positive experience.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong understanding of real estate laws, title insurance practices, and escrow procedures in Maryland (or relevant state).
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to resolve complex title or escrow issues.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for client interactions and document preparation.
Ability to work collaboratively with team members and external partners.
Proficiency in title and closing software systems is a plus.
Education and Experience:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2+ years experience in real estate law, with a focus on title and closing processes a must.
Active membership in the Maryland Bar
