Reports to: Deputy Supervisor of the ICAC Unit

Pay Rate: $25/hr

Location: Chicago Children's Advocacy Center - 1240 S Damen but will be expected to travel to various locations around Cook County.

Working Environment: This role is funded by the Cook County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force grant. The number of hours a week will vary, however we expect this role will require more time up front for the development of presentations. The number and cadence of presentations will be based on demand from schools and communities but will primarily take place on nights and weekends to accommodate most attendees' schedules.

This is a 12-month, part-time, contract position, and is not eligible for any benefits, including PTO and medical coverage. The term of this position is subject to grant availability and can be terminated at any time due to discontinuation or expiration of funding.

Physical requirements:

Light Work: The position requires the ability to stand or walk frequently, often for extended periods. You may need to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 20 pounds regularly, and occasionally heavier items. The job may also involve a significant amount of walking or standing relative to sedentary roles.

Position Overview:

The Cook County State's Attorney's Office is seeking a passionate and articulate individual to serve as a Community Outreach Presenter for a public education initiative focused on preventing internet crimes against children. This position is responsible for developing and delivering presentations to parents and community groups throughout Cook County, educating them on how to keep children safe from online exploitation, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

The ideal candidate will have strong public speaking skills, a solid understanding of online child safety issues, and experience addressing sensitive topics in a clear, respectful, and informative manner. Familiarity with the Cook County State's Attorney's Office and the Cook County Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force is strongly preferred.

This role is required to travel to various locations around Cook County and this individual will be reponsible for their own transportation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain up-to-date presentation materials via PowerPoint tailored to parent and caregiver audiences.
• Deliver educational outreach presentations throughout Cook County, primarily during evening hours and occasionally on weekends. Minimum 50 presentations a year.
• Communicate complex and sensitive topics'including CSAM, grooming, and online predator tactics'in a clear, age-appropriate, and trauma-informed manner.
• Collaborate with community partners, schools, law enforcement, and other organizations to coordinate outreach efforts.
• Stay informed on current internet safety trends, platforms, and emerging threats affecting children.
• Utilize audio/visual and digital tools to enhance presentations. Knowledge of Apple iOS operating systems required.
• Maintain records of outreach events and feedback to support reporting and program development.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience working with the Cook County State's Attorney's Office.
• Familiarity with the Cook County ICAC Task Force and its mission.
• Background in criminal justice, education, social work, or related field is a plus.
• Bilingual proficiency is an asset, particularly in Spanish.
