Position Overview
We are seeking a Criminal Defense Law Clerk (part-time) to join our criminal defense team in the Charleston, SC office. This is a great opportunity for a rising 2L or 3L law school student who is interested in criminal law.  In this role, you will help assist with clerical duties, client support, and special projects.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain case files and documents
• Assist with drafting and preparing legal documents
• Provide general administrative and office support
• Assist with client and court-related communications and tasks
• Perform other duties as needed to support the attorney and practice
• Obtain police records and evidence

Qualifications and Skills

• Current law student 
• Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Professional, reliable, and able to work independently
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
• Genuine interest in criminal defense and willingness to learn
• Availability to work approximately 5–10 hours per week in Charleston, South Carolina

Compensation:
Paid position: $17 - $20 per hour
