SALARY: $26.07 – $31.30 Hourly / $54,225.60 – $65,104.00 Annually

THE ROLE:As a Deputy Court Clerk, you will play an important role in supporting the daily operations of the Pasco Municipal Court by performing a variety of clerical, records, payment processing, and court-related support duties. This position assists with receiving, receipting, and posting payments; setting and monitoring time payment agreements; preparing case files and records; scheduling court dates; recording in-court proceedings; entering findings at the conclusion of hearings; and distributing court-related information to other agencies and departments.
The ideal candidate will have general or legal clerical experience, strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to maintain complete and accurate records in a confidential court environment. This role requires sound judgment, clear communication, professionalism, and the ability to work effectively with the judge, attorneys, City staff, outside agencies, and members of the public.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job.High school diploma or G.E.D.
Two (2) years of general or legal clerical experience.
Previous experience in local government, court, legal, law enforcement, or other confidential office environment.
Experience using court case management systems or other specialized database systems.
Experience receiving, receipting, posting, and reconciling payments.
Strong customer service, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Medical coverage is available at tiered monthly rates based on plan selection and coverage level. Dental coverage is available at $11.59/month and vision coverage at $6.54/month.
Basic life insurance paid for by the City and employee sponsored supplemental life insurance.
12 days of vacation during the 1st year of employment and 12 days of sick leave which are available for use upon accrual.
10 holidays, plus each employee receives 1 floating holiday each year.
Washington State Department of Retirement Systems (DRS), which offers a guaranteed monthly benefit once vesting criteria has been met.
In addition to DRS, employees may also contribute to a 457 Deferred Compensation Plan, that offers a pre-tax contribution of 4% from the City.

Work is primarily performed in an office or courtroom environment.
Work is performed while stationed at a desk using a computer, standing at the front counter, or bending to file.
Physical: May lift files weighing up to 20 pounds.
Duties require providing service to and communicating with individuals who may be angry, upset, or frustrated on a regular basis.
