Job Description

The Payment Processing Specialist, in the Payment Processing section, will perform highly advanced (senior-level) consultative services and technical assistance work. The Work involves planning, developing, and implementing major agency program(s) and providing consultative services and technical assistance to program staff, governmental agencies, community organizations, or the general public. May serve as a lead worker providing direction to others under the Payment Processing Manager and Supervisor. Duties

Develops, improves, and implements policy and procedure changes for the Payment Processing section; provides, organizes, and tracks all training and technical assistance to section staff, other child support staff, and/or state and federal officials on Payment Processing responsibilities Initiates, reviews, and researches moderate to highly complex financial-related inquiries that come from morning mail, proxy mailboxes, direct inquiries, and internal requests Develops, improves, and implements policy and procedure changes for the Payment Processing section; provides, organizes, and tracks all training and technical assistance to section staff, other child support staff, and/or state and federal officials on Payment Processing responsibilities Prepares detailed and comprehensive reports of findings and recommendations, participates in program planning, contract management, contract development, contract award, and contract implementation of methods to improve the processing of child support collections regarding the State Disbursement Unit and within the Payment Processing section Initiates and responds to highly complex telephone and written inquiries from field offices, customers, counties, and employers regarding child support financial issues, recoupments, and payroll hold calls; communicates with field offices, counties, banks, employers, and other government agencies identify and correct child support payment problems Performs related work as assigned Maintains relevant knowledge necessary to perform essential job functions Attends work regularly in compliance with agreed-upon work schedule Ensures security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected information Complies with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS. Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; experience in the following (or closely related) fields may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis: administration, business, Child Support Program, financial processing, government, statistical analysis, or planning Experience: 8 years of full-time experience working in the following (or closely related) fields: administration, business, Child Support Program, financial processing, government, statistical analysis, or planning Skill in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines Skill in effective oral and written communication Skill in exercising sound judgment and effective decision making Ability to receive and respond positively to constructive feedback Ability to work cooperatively with others in a professional office environment Ability to provide excellent customer service Ability to work in person at assigned OAG work location, perform all assigned tasks at designated OAG work space within OAG work location, and perform in-person work with coworkers (e.g., collaborating, training, mentoring) for the entirety of every work week (unless on approved leave) Ability to arrange for personal transportation for business-related travel Ability to work more than 40 hours as needed and in compliance with the FLSA Ability to lift and relocate 30 lbs. Ability to travel (including overnight travel) up to 5% Ability to work in person at assigned OAG work location, perform all assigned tasks at designated OAG work space within OAG work location, and perform in-person work with coworkers (e.g., collaborating, training, mentoring) for the entirety of every work week (unless on approved leave)
