This is an entry-level attorney role in the Legal Department, reporting to a Senior Counsel or Associate General Counsel.
What You'll be Doing:
Provides legal advice to the business areas designated by first assistant (with approval of Senior VP-General Counsel) including:
- Advise business teams on the legal implications of business decisions.
- Draft, review and negotiate contracts related to the assigned business area.
- Review, interpret and advise business teams on contractual obligations.
- Monitor and analyze impact of pending and existing laws and regulations relevant to the assigned business area and communicate impact to the business teams.
- Collaborate with team members in the Legal Department and other areas of the Company, as needed.
- Develop training, processes and forms to support business needs and efficiencies.
- Work with outside legal counsel, as needed.

What You Bring With You (Qualifications):
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited U.S. law school required
- Michigan licensed or willingness to become licensed in Michigan
- 2-3 years at a major law firm or large corporation providing legal advice regarding key aspects of real estate acquisitions, property dispositions, and strategic corporate growth initiatives
- Ability to manage multiple internal stakeholders and balance differing opinions and perspectives
- Proven success in managing multiple tasks and priorities
- Strong verbal and analytical skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Highly team-oriented
- Flexibility as to the types of projects assigned
- Solid business acumen
