Senior Business Development Manager, Intellectual Property

We are working on behalf on an Am Law 40 firm to recruit a Senior Business Development Manager. This role offers the opportunity to shape and drive business development and marketing initiatives for the firmwide Intellectual Property (IP) practice, working closely with practice leaders, partners, and colleagues across the BD team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Planning and Execution: Collaborate with practice leaders to create and implement marketing and business development strategies, leveraging market insights to drive strategy and differentiate service offerings.
• Project and Process Management: Lead RFPs, pitches, client events, directory submissions, and other BD projects for the group.
• Team Leadership and Development: Supervise a BD Coordinator, providing guidance, feedback, and mentorship to support professional growth.
• Client Development and Insights: Identify new and existing client opportunities, conducting client research and analysis using firm systems and resources.

Credentials and Expertise:

• Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field is required.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of business development or marketing experience, preferably in a law firm, professional services, or financial services environment.
• Capabilities: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels. Strong attention to detail, proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to demonstrate both independent initiative and effective teamwork.

Salary Ranges:

Houston/Dallas: $177,000 - $200,000

Chicago: $189,000 - $215,000
