In this role, you will help shape litigation strategy for a leading privately held bank while also providing practical, business-forward counsel on lending, deposit products, private banking, trust/wealth services, and select employment-related matters. You will collaborate closely with leaders across the Bank, partner with other in-house attorneys, and manage outside counsel to drive strong outcomes and reduce risk.

Why You’ll Love This Role

  • High visibility, meaningful impact—help shape outcomes on significant litigation and risk matters
  • Variety and growth—work across litigation, lending, deposit, and private banking topics, with room to deepen expertise
  • Trusted partner—advise leaders and teams across the Bank, turning complex issues into clear, actionable guidance
  • Collaborative legal team—work closely with talented in-house attorneys and respected outside counsel

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute litigation strategies to minimize legal exposure and protect the Bank’s interests
  • Manage a portfolio of litigation matters, including reviewing pleadings, discovery, motions, and settlement documentation
  • Advise management on resolution options; participate in mediations, settlement conferences, and negotiations, as appropriate
  • Select, direct, and oversee outside counsel, including budgeting, performance expectations, and matter management
  • Create and deliver trainings for business units, as needed, and stay current on legal and industry developments impacting the Bank

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school; strong academic credentials preferred
  • Active membership in good standing with the Oklahoma state bar association (or ability to obtain promptly, as applicable)
  • 5+ years of legal experience with meaningful litigation experience; banking, mortgage servicing, financial services, and/or commercial lending experience preferred
  • Strong legal and business judgment, with the ability to balance business objectives and legal risk
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; discretion with sensitive and confidential information
  • Exceptional organization and attention to detail; ability to manage a broad portfolio of matters and priorities
  • Self-directed, collaborative, and intellectually curious, with a practical approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment
