You will serve as the Deputy Director Equal Employment Opportunity (DDEEO) in the Office of EEO, Overseas EEO Programs, Yokosuka Japan,of ASSTSECNAV MR-A WASHINGTON DC.
Duties
- You will plan and schedule the work of the Japan EEO office to attain Program goals by developing and providing advice, recommendations and guidance on all EEO matters.
- You will serve as an expert principal advisor and spokesperson on equal employment opportunity (EEO) matters for and to serviced commands within the assigned overseas area: Japan, INDOPAC.
- You will advise and consult with serviced commands leaders, managers, and supervisors on identification and elimination of individual and systemic discrimination; promotion and development of EEO policies, plans and programs.
- You will manage and direct the development and implementation of EEO policies and procedures to effectively deal with the prevention/elimination of individual and systemic discrimination affecting serviced commands and activities
- You will oversee the EEO Discrimination Complaints Management and Reasonable Accommodation processes.
- You will direct and review analyses of EEO laws, court decisions, regulations and personnel policies to determine the impact on the serviced activities and recommend appropriate program and policy changes.
- You will ensure the serviced workforce is informed of all efforts to foster EEO, to include preparing news releases, making presentations, meeting with serviced command leaders and community leaders.
- You will assist the Alternative Dispute Resolution Program for the serviced commands.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector executing and evaluating a civilian federal equal employment opportunity (EEO) program to include advising on the application of equal employment opportunity (EEO) program requirements and developing strategic initiatives and recommendations for senior leaders.
