Job Description

Job Summary:

As a Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney, you will be responsible for representing employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators in all aspects of workers' compensation litigation. You will handle a caseload of workers' compensation cases from inception to resolution, providing expert legal counsel and ensuring the best possible outcomes for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in all phases of workers' compensation litigation, including trials, hearings, depositions, and mediations.
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients regarding workers' compensation claims and related matters.
  • Prepare and manage discovery, including conducting depositions and interrogatories.
  • Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution processes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure efficient case management.
  • Stay current with developments in workers' compensation law and attend relevant continuing legal education (CLE) programs.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active and in good standing with the California State Bar.
  • Strong knowledge of California workers' compensation laws and regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload efficiently.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional client service.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
