Job Summary:
As a Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney, you will be responsible for representing employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators in all aspects of workers' compensation litigation. You will handle a caseload of workers' compensation cases from inception to resolution, providing expert legal counsel and ensuring the best possible outcomes for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in all phases of workers' compensation litigation, including trials, hearings, depositions, and mediations.
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Provide legal advice and counsel to clients regarding workers' compensation claims and related matters.
- Prepare and manage discovery, including conducting depositions and interrogatories.
- Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution processes.
- Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure efficient case management.
- Stay current with developments in workers' compensation law and attend relevant continuing legal education (CLE) programs.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active and in good standing with the California State Bar.
- Strong knowledge of California workers' compensation laws and regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload efficiently.
- Commitment to providing exceptional client service.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
