This practice specializes in Estate Planning, Probate and Elder Law, which includes MassHealth/Medicaid Applications and some Guardianship and Conservatorship work.
Responsibilities (will train as needed):
- Intake of new cases, as we have lots of prospective clients calling and emailing us regarding elderly parents, disabled children, guardianships, conservatorships, will contests and questionable administration by others of estates and trusts, and we need to determine which are the cases we should take on and which cases we should simply turn down tactfully.
- Assisting with the drafting of estate planning documents, and keeping those cases moving forward.
- Dealing with estate, trust, guardianship and conservatorship matters in Probate Court, as well as MassHealth long term care applications and appeals.
- Recording and storing client information promptly and securely.
- Preparing information emails for clients and setting up webinars.
- Assisting the firm in developing a better presence on the internet.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a paralegal or legal assistant with direct client contact.
- Excellent written, verbal, software and internet communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask, and to deal with interruptions.
- Careful attention to detail.
- Reliable and organized.
Compensation: $55,000.00 - $64,000.00 per year
