Position Purpose:This position manages and handles all legal matters within an area of specialization, including regulatory and compliance issues arising from store operations. The ultimate objective of this position is to minimize the legal exposure of the Company in any and all legal matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manages the legal affairs of the Company's Procurement, Information Technology and Privacy departments.
- Handles general corporate matters and commercial transactions.
- Directs Corporate Counsels and Paralegals.
- Selects, develops and motivates assigned staff.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- Typically reports to an Associate General Counsel.
- Direct reports generally include one or more Corporate Counsels, one or more Paralegals and one or more Administrative Assistants.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in general corporate law, commercial transactions, procurement and credit.
- Twelve years of experience as an attorney.
Minimum Education:
- The completion of a Juris Doctor or equivalent and required certifications for practicing law.
